Using Nail Glue Can Be Tricky!
Accidentally using nail glue instead of fabric glue can be a real pickle, from clothes to carpets, it can be a hassle. Here’s what you can do when nail glue has got on your clothes:
Step 1: Don’t Panic!
The most important thing to do when you realise you’ve got nail glue on your clothes is to try and keep calm. Removing nail glue can be done, but it’s important to remain calm and composed.
Step 2: Reduce Stains as Much as Possible
The sooner you can act to remove a stain, the better. Try and remove as much as the glue off the cloth as you can. You can do this by gently pulling off chunks of the glue at a time, being very careful not to pull too hard.
Step 3: Choosing the Best Cleaning Product
There are a few solutions available to you when it comes to removing nail glue.
- Hairspray: A great remedy for removing nail glue is hairspray. Simply apply hairspray to the stain, allow it to sit for about 5 minutes, then scrub it gently with a toothbrush. Rinse the fabric in lukewarm water, and check to see if it is successful.
- Nail Polish Remover: Applying nail polish remover to a cloth and gently rubbing the glue off is another way of removing it from fabric. Use a gentle fabric and make sure to not put too much pressure on it as this may damage the garment.
- Vinegar: This simple household ingredient is another great way of removing nail glue. First dilute white vinegar with water and apply to the stain. Leave it to sit for several minutes and then gently scrub the glue off.
Step 4: Clean and Freshen
Once the glue is removed, you will have to make sure that the cloth is thoroughly cleaned and freshened. Place the fabric in a bowl and soak it in warm water and laundry detergent for a few hours. This should help to remove the remainder of the stain and get rid of any unpleasant odours.
Step 5: Dry and Wear
When the fabric has dried properly, you can now wear it with pride! Nail glue can be tricky to get out, but with patience and careful consideration, it can be done.
Good luck and happy cleaning!
