How To Easily Get Paint Out Of Clothes
It’s always a nightmare when you accidentally get paint on your clothes. Whether it’s because you painted something and it’s splashed on you, or paint got transferred from another object to your clothing – it’s always annoying. However, if you know these simple techniques, getting paint out of your clothes can be a very easy task.
Getting Paint Out Of Clothes:
1. Use Rubbing Alcohol
Dab a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and apply it to the affected area. The paint should start to come away from the fabric. Ensure to use a clean cotton ball for a new area.
2. Use Detergent
Create a paste by mixing detergent and water and use a toothbrush to scrub the paste over the paint. After scrubbing, rinse off with water.
3. Use White Vinegar
Soak the clothing, along with a few towels, in a solution of one gallon of lukewarm water and one cup of white vinegar. Leave the clothing to soak for an hour, then rinse it out with cold water. Repeat the process, if necessary.
4. Use WD-40
Apply WD-40 directly to the paint stain and allow it to sit for about five minutes. Take a clean, white cloth and blot the area. Repeat as necessary.
Preventative Measures:
- Put something between a paintbrush or roller and your clothing, such as an apron or a craft smock.
- Soak the paintbrush immediately after use, and then wash the bristles with soap and water.
- Immediately rinse the clothing with running, cold water.
