When does DTA distribute the clothing allowance?
In 2022, DTA will distribute the clothing allowance in July and August. Applicants must file their request for a clothing allowance by June 10th of that year in order to receive the money by August.
Amount of Allowance
The clothing allowance amount can vary from year to year and is determined by DTA. Generally, the maximum allowance for an individual is $200 per program year. It’s important to note that the clothing allowance is a single payment, meaning the amount you receive cannot change over the year.
How to Request the Allowance
There are two ways to request the clothing allowance:
- Online: You can request the allowance through your myCOMPASS PA account. You will need to provide information related to your eligibility such as your TAFDC, EAEDC, or SNAP benefit status, how many dependents you have, and your household’s income.
- By phone: Call the DTA Customer Service Line at 1-800-692-7462 and provide the same information listed above.
Once you’ve requested the allowance, you will receive a notification from DTA with information about when and how you will be receiving your payment.
